Ubud

Ubud is the place that the film eat pray love is set. Although can't say I recognised any of it from the film, thats Hollywood for you. But regardless the place is much more authentic bali and a lot less touristy. Although you do see the odd Julie Roberts 40+ woman wondering around trying to 'find themselves'.

We found ourselves a little home stay (basically a locals home which they rent out rooms for tourists and generally provide you with the tastiest breakfast).

After we'd got rid of the bags we headed out to explore and of course we needed to refueling so headed for breakfast.

And yes that pancake is green, it's all very healthy in ubud yoga and all. Not sure if it being green makes it healthy but it was still pretty tasty. We then went off to wonder the streets.

Ubud town centre is situation on two roads, one of them being called monkey forest road. And yes you guessed it there is a monkey forest about a 5 minute walk away.

We bravely wondered in....and lasted about 5 minutes before coming out at a much quicker pace. There were monkeys everywhere and they were quite happy to not to ignore you and interact. Some were stealing from tourists and just generally being monkeys!!

So that's a day in ubud. Nothing too crazy but us girls are back on tour tomorrow!!
