Phuket or more to the point patong beach

So we jumped on our ferry from phi phi to Phuket. We decided to explore Phuket town first and booked a night in a rather posh hotel. After we did this we realised there was nothing to do in the town at all ( except to get unexplainable flu like symptoms from eating a mcdonalds). The town is very non touristy so much so people we're staring and getting excited at seeing two white girls!

Safe to say we moved on the next day to patong beach,  a much more touristy area. Now most serious travellers stay clear of patong as it's no where near like authentic Thailand, it's more magaluf style. But being that Nik and me are not serious travellers and love a good old tourist spot now and then, we loved it!!

How we spent the first day.... On the beach.

And yes you guessed to the second day was spent there too!

Now we did venture out on a boat trip but more of that another time. For now you will be getting the full patong experience!

This is where we slept and yes those are just mattresses on the floor. Not the comfiest but by far the best hostel ever.

The communal area/and view from our bed. And yes that is a sauna and steam room you see in the left.

Perfect for drying our wet beach clothes!!

Also had its own gym area, not something I felt I had to experience though.

Now to the actual place.

The 'strip' or Bangor road as it's actually known. You couldn't walk a couple of metres without being accosted for ping pong shows, lady boys or just a standard man with his pet iguana.

Also managed to find the body shop in the shopping mall, so had a little try me pamper session.

Shopping mall photo opps.

And when that all got too much back to the beach we headed.

Little sustanace to keep us going... Pineapple with added sand. Yummy.

Even fed the locals.

And we just enjoyed a nice sunset as per usual.

More on our boat trip to James Bond island tomorrow!
