Sh sh shopping

I seem to have been neglecting my blog for a while recently. I have no real excuse other than being real busy or real lazy!

I'm going to Portugal soon and have been 'holiday' shopping, it's surprising how many things you can buy using the justification of needing it for your holiday.......

3 for 2 superdrug haul, only went in for drink!
my new bag, from cambridge satchel company
2nd superdrug 3 for 2 haul- online
cheeky little travel size urban decay eyeliners
actually bought some clothes for holiday, easiest item to photograph is the below shoes.
just realised these technically aren't clothes.. ah well!
couple new make-up brushes from topshop and bodyshop

I did honestly buy some actual clothes for the holiday, just not as easy to take picture of. I shall show them off with my holiday snaps when I'm back.

It's just a jump to the left...

... and a step to the righhhhhtttt. That's right guy last week I took a bended knee and pelvic thrusted myself to the Rocky Horror Show!

In the spirit of my trying to say yes to more things, I felt that when I was asked to go, I couldn't possible say no!! Now something like this normally would send me into a total spin of what on earth am I going to wear? everything I own makes me look fat! I'm going to look terrible.. blah blah argghhhh!!!!!

Now after some sensible googling and some yahoo q&a's I found a line by someone saying to wear whatever you want as everyone else will be!! Sound really simple but it actually worked for me.

So I donned my House of Holland suspender tights, a long black top and a lace one thrown over.  A feather boa and my top hat (miniature of course!) And finally bright red lips to complete the look.

I had a brilliant time and can not recommend enough, if you ever get the chance do it, do it, do it. The audience participation totally makes it an evening to never forget!!

Now I just have to work out how to stop singing the songs all day long, whatever anyone says there is never an appropriate time to be belting out " I'm just a sweet transvestite"!

Sir Charles Birthday

It's my little mans birthday today!! Charlie is a miniature dachshund but with a great dane size of attitude, he's a naughty lovable little rogue.

We've had a busy two years since I begged/tricked my mum into letting me get him!!

I wonder if charlie being a 'mini' sausage dog, has anything to do with my miniature obsession??

Things I learnt this week

- I'm getting a little obsessed over candles, could this be my miniatures replacement??

- My mum thinks my thighs are bigger than the girl we walked behind in Ikea! In my mum's defence I did ask, when will I learn??

- After getting my typical, 'first day the sun shines this year sunburn', my brown shoulders are now peeling. Ah well back to my milk bottle colouring.

- I think I'm finally catching on to this one direction thing, they have their own playlist on my spotify and it's constantly on repeat. Is this acceptable to admit in public these days.. hope so!

- I've fallen in love with my new nail varnish but it is amazing. Essie- 'Cute as a button' is on one coat a lovely rose pink, two coats a hot pink and by three coats a neon pink. I actually get distracted at work by how pretty my nails look and spend, what seems like hours, just gawping at them!

- 'Helping' my sister make cupcakes, always ends well. yum yum!!

- And finally, knowing and singing all the words to the phantom of the opera soundtrack, isn't always appreciated by other drivers.

Lets hope next weeks brings as insightful info.

They're real?

I love mascara its my favourite beauty item and the one thing I wouldn't leave the house without, well except clothes, bag, phone and keys... so it's the one make up item I wouldn't leave the house without.

So onto they're real mascara by benefit. When this first came out I completely fell in love, it gave me beautiful long eyelashes unfortunately so long in fact that they used to hit my just under my eyebrow and leave nice black smudges. So I decided after a couple of tubes of this at £18.50 a pop I decided there had to be a better cheaper alternative...

After a year of trying loads of new mascaras (a select few below). I decided nothing I had tried had really come close to how good they're real was, by this time I'd clearly put it on a pedestal and it could do no wrong- forgotten were those black smudges.

So I bit the bullet last week and bought it again, now I can't lie this is a fantastic mascara it makes your lashes almost magically lengthen before your eyes... but it's just not for me anymore. On the plus side I did get double boots points, so not a complete waste!

I'm moving onwards and upwards with my search for the perfect mascara!!

Below are all the mascaras I've tried recently....

The only real dud one is the maxfactor factor false lash effect bold volume,(third from top) I had a slight blonde moment when buying and assumed I'd bought the normal false lash effect but instead ended up with this £10 tube of gloop!

I'm off to enjoy what left of this sun!!

ready for picking!!

Now I may suffer from a slight shopping compulsion, where I feel the need to buy most things. This was highlighted to me recently when having a good old sort out of my beauty products. I actually realised I had enough shower gel, deodorant, hair product and moisturiser to last me until next summer.

A lot of my unhealthy collection seems to be all things miniature, pretty much have a mini of every beauty product ever made... well so it seems!

So to justify my new subscription to GlossyBox (yes I know! just what I need a monthly subscription of more miniatures) I have started my tirade to use everything up as quick as possible!

This brings me nicely to the actual point of my blogpost is that I just finished my Body Shop body butter in passion fruit, miniature of course. I now realise why this has been in the depth of my drawers for what seems like years. It's such an overpowering smell that it actually lingers for days and it leaves me smelling just like I've been picked off a passion fruit tree. Didn't just google to check that they actually grow on trees! Don't get me wrong I love Body Shop and the body butters are brilliant but this one is finally gone and I couldn't be happier!

So lets roll on the next miniature and hope I fair better......

Tight roulette!

Why is it that I can never find a good pair of tights in my manic morning rush? I seem to be having a tight cull every month, somehow the nice pair but don't stay up or brilliant pair except for the big hole on the bum part, still seem to survive unscathed and sit there all innocent in my wardrobe waiting to be picked!

Safe to say this mornings pair was not a lucky choice, seemed perfect till about 2 minutes into my walk to work and then came the dreaded feeling of gravity at its best! I've spent the entire day stealing moment when(hopefully) no one is looking to readjust, to keep the bloody things up. Not sure I totally pulled it off in the queue for my subway salad, especially when an unnoticed work college started chatting away to me.....

I'm still not sure whats worse -the person behind you having to see you yank your tights back up around your boobs or getting to see them slowly fall off your arse?!

So I'm off to dispose of any Nora tights that are still lurking.

They advise warming up for a reason....

So my first run went well  (all ten mins of it) and I was all geared up for my next run.... until I woke up the following morning. Getting out of bed wasn't an issue it was more the need to walk that I struggled with. Me and my shins normally have a good relationship, they do what they're meant to and I get on with my life. But apparently they don't like me running!

Now there is every chance this could be down to any lack of warm up. Anyone who knows me knows that exercise and Ali are not two words you generally find in the same sentence. In fact I have memories of having to 'play' football at school in mid Jan, being in a coat, hat, scarf and gloves, being shouted at my by teacher that I had to actually move for him to pass me! So any kind exercise knowledge, liking warming up, has sadly been lost or stored very deep down in the old Cole memory banks.

Today was the day of my running take 2, all went well, sadly it wasn't till getting back from my second run and collapsing in a heap that I realised the little gem from above, that warming up first would be a good idea.....

Not sure what tomorrow will bring but I can imagine some more hobbling and more evil stares from the woman and their pushchairs that I keep stealing lift spaces from!!

5 pounds!!!!

I've lost 5lbs (very careless of me) since starting my health kick. Now after some trusty googling I found this is the same weight of the worlds largest gummy bear. So I've officially lost the size of a enormous sweet, very fitting as I haven't touched one all week!!

Today was also the day that I dusted the old converse off and went for a jog, being that I've probably never jogged anywhere in my life, I was suitable impressed!! Even the silly sausage himself(my dog) struggled to keep up, although this could have been shock from seeing me run, who knows?! Now I know I'm fully committed to the cause, I feel a little shopping trip is needed for the lovely pink running shoes I've been ogling online all week!!
